From the Lectio Magistralis by Michelangelo Pistoletto for the students of the Liceo Artsitico Statale “M.Rosso” held on October 17, to the morning of December 21, 2012, when 500 students of LASMR with their teachers, have created in Lecco, in Piazza XX Settembre, a performance inspired by the “Dance” by Henry Matisse and by the “Third Paradise”, thus responding to the invitation received from Michelangelo Pistoletto to participate in the 1st Rebirth-day.
The action planned by students gave birth to a peaceful invasion of the city center, with the involvement of passers-by with the “gift” of the hugs.
The performance, inspired by Matisse ‘s masterpiece (for its affinity to the Rebirth-day: universality / harmony / circularity), ends with a reference to the fresco of “Buon Governo” by A. Lorenzetti, generating during its course the symbol of infinity and that of the “Third Paradise”. After the performance the students and teachers walked by Via Cavour to reach the City Hall to meet the Mayor Virginio Brivio.
