GOALS: Sorgenti / Springs is the continuation of a research project on water, identity and site-specifity that started in 2009 in Via Farini (Milan) under the name of The Rain Project.
It has developed in relation with several contexts and venues such as The Market Studios (Dublin) and La Rioja Cultural Center (Logroño-Spain).

This is a site-specific installation curated by Gabi Scardi and comissioned by Museo Tornielli and Asilo Bianco (Ameno-Italy). It was presented at the group exhibition ‘Dove non si tocca’.
The work was a response to the curator’s invitation to reflect about “water” in relation to Museo Tornielli and its immediate surroundings.
Marta Fernandez Calvo created a “spring” that will last for the duration of the show.
It consists of a series of fifty bottles, filled with water that I collected from different springs in the area of Lake Orta. Central to the work was an attempt to describe the very political connotations of water –the blue gold- in many Southern areas.
During the exhibition and the Rebirth Day visitors are invited to collect water from the installation aswell as to refill the bottles with water from their favourite springs. Every bottle has an archive that registers the different waters that have passed through it.
